Not the reboot of Firestarter I was expecting but close...
So its the same old premise. Someone with a special gift is chased by the power hungry yet compelled and stop to help people. Yet another NBC show that dangles the carrot but you know they will give up on before it blossoms.
EXCEPT...
I really liked this show. Johnny Sequoyah plays a very likable character in Bo. I enjoyed TOUCH but the boy on that show was so limited. I think they blew it by waiting two seasons to let him speak. They assumed they would have a third season to explore that. They were wrong.
This show got right to the point. The skip a lot of the usually WHO IS AFTER THIS CUTE LITTLE GIRL? Answer: Kyle MacLachlan as Roman Skouras. WHY? Because she has power and Kyle wants it.
And WHY DID THEY CHOSE TATE TO SAVE HER
Answer: Tate is the Father. Even Luke had to wait almost 4 hours of movie to learn that. Well Bo doesn't know yet. Or does she...
And the chemistry between Bo and Tate is cute. Almost comedy team like in the dramatic world.
Great action!!! First episode has Kate Beckinsale clone (and pretty good at that - i was expecting the worst - got pretty darn good) working to secure Bo for the bad guys. She is supported by a whole lot tech support. Clearly those looking to find her have more money and resources than those trying to save her.
WATCH THIS SHOW!!! While it lack a major element of mystery, the writing, direction and acting are top notch. While the premise of Black list is more intense, I like this show better. One of the best new dramatic (non-cop) show from NBC in 20 years. (How many horrible reboots of 1970s/80s hits did we have to endure...)
Cool project form the guy that gave us GRAVITY...
